They say people in our industry should have blogs and because I’ve never had one I thought I might as well give it a shot. And since jekyll on GitHub is so hot right now and ruby is finally actually manageable under Windows (thanks WSL) I’ve decided to give static blogging a shot.
It works fine but I still encountered some quirks. So in case anyone would want to go down the same path I’ve gathered some useful information and posted them on github/petrroll/jekyllOnWsl.
Long story short: there are occasional problems with permissions and
--watch doesn’t work (use
--force_polling instead) but it’s ok otherwise. If you have any further questions feel free to ask.
And that’s probably all for my very first blog post. Until next time!
